Lamar University’s JoAnne Gay Dishman School of Nursing invites applicants for an Assistant Professor position. The successful candidate will provide academic and practicum instruction on campus and online, plan and coordinate experiences, and contribute to curriculum development and accreditation.
The role emphasizes scholarly activity, teaching excellence, and service to committees; a doctorate in nursing or related field and Texas RN licensure are required, with visa sponsorship not available.
Provides academic and practicum instruction within the JoAnne Gay Dishman School of Nursing. Plans, coordinates, and conducts on-campus and online classroom and practicum experiences for students. Participates in scholarly and academic activities appropriate to the Assistant Professor rank. Reports to the Associate Dean for Nursing Affairs, the Assistant Dean for Graduate Nursing Studies, and/or the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Nursing Studies.

Able to lift 25 lbs and be able to perform a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing and walking between buildings.
Work is primarily performed in a classroom, clinic, or instructional environment in climate-controlled conditions.
