Santa Fe Community College invites applications for a Nursing faculty role. The position involves teaching up to 30 pay hours per year, designing and assessing courses, and providing academic advising to students in a diverse learning environment.
Responsibilities include mentoring adjunct faculty, maintaining current professional standards, attending committee meetings, and supporting SFCC’s mission within the School of Science, Health, Engineering and Math.
Compensation: Minimum starting salary based on education: Master’s: $55,430 Master’s +45: $58,180 Doctorate: $60,930 Final salary to commensurate with education, experience and other applicable factors.

Teaches 30 pay hours per year of assigned classes and performs instructional duties in diverse learning environments. Responsibilities will include designing and preparing course assignments and assessments both in class and online, grading and tracking student work, and assessing student placement. Maintaining scheduled office hours, meeting with students and providing academic advisement to students in the classroom and related areas. Provides mentoring and guidance to adjunct faculty and assist with student conferences. It is expected that faculty will maintain current professional standards and practices, as well as attend committee/department meetings, and support the mission of SFCC and the School of Science, Health, Engineering and Math. Must be committed to serving a diverse college community.
Duties & Responsibilities
Although the above are typical of the duties and responsibilities normally performed, additional duties and responsibilities requiring the same or lesser skills, knowledge and dexterity may be required.
Knowledge of current teaching methodologies and practices, such as cooperative learning, service-learning, traditional and alternative assessment; on-line and blended course delivery; diverse learning styles; Evaluation methodologies; Record keeping; and of curriculum design and planning. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Skill in problem solving; in time management; in computer use; in listening and in critical thinking. Must have sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, special needs, and ethnic backgrounds of college students. Ability to communicate information and ideas; Speak clearly; work with students with learning differences and disabilities.
Masters Degree in Nursing from an accredited university program required (Applicants without a graduate degree in nursing may be employed for one year and then are required to complete a graduate degree in nursing within the next five years as a contingency of employment) Certifications including (Basic Life Support) BLS must be current. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the New Mexico Board of Nursing. 5 year’s experience in a clinical or academic nursing setting.
At least two (2) years' experience teaching in a post-secondary or college set Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Incumbent must be able to conduct clinicals at Christus St. Vincent, Presbyterian, VA, UNMH and other local area hospitals. Completion of an associated masters degree within 5 years of employment if not already obtained. Possess and maintain BLS Certification. Possess and maintain licensure by the New Mexico Board of Nursing.
8 am to 5 pm Monday – Friday. Weekend and evening work may be required occasionally.
This Position is on-site in Santa Fe, NM and may be eligible for a Hybrid Remote schedule.
