The University of Minnesota Morris invites applications for a Tenure-Track, Assistant Professor of Statistics and Data Science. The role is in Morris, MN and focuses on teaching a range of statistics and data science courses while building an undergraduate-research program.

• Develop a research program sustainable at a small liberal arts school (preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the capacity to involve undergraduate students)


• Advising undergraduates


• Sharing in the governance and advancement of the statistics and data science program, the division, and the campus

Please note: this is an in person role, with the expectation of a commutable distance to Morris, MN.

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold or expect to receive a Ph.D. in statistics, data science, or a closely related field by August 16, 2027.


• Experience and evidence of excellence in teaching undergraduate statistics or data science is required. (Graduate TA experience is acceptable).

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $65,000 to $80,000 annually, depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment
