Job summary

The University of Minnesota Morris is seeking a Short-Term Lecturer/Assistant Professor or Teaching Specialist in the Division of Humanities to teach undergraduate courses at Morris for the 2026-2027 academic year. This is a temporary, part-time appointment with dates 8/24/2026–5/7/2027, primarily focused on teaching, with potential service and research activities.

Responsibilities include delivering undergraduate instruction and contributing to the academic program. Eligibility requires a Ph.D.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or terminal degree for Lecturer/Assistant Professor; MA/MS or BA/BS for Teaching Specialists, masters preferred.
  • Candidates must have academic preparation appropriate to the specialized teaching field.
  • Though clear emphasis is on successful teaching, consideration will be given to scholarly attainment or other professional recognition or distinction in the teaching field.

Temporary, Part-Time - 9 months and less than 50% time or less than 9 months and any % time.

The Division of Humanities may need Lecturers/Assistant Professors or Teaching Specialists to teach on a short-term and/or temporary basis during the academic year 2026-2027; dates 8/24/2026 - 5/7/2027

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $42,000-$60,000 ; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment Category: 9 months and less than 50% time or less than 9 months and any % time
