Job description

The Department of Mathematics of Rice University, located in Houston, Texas, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027.

Applicants for the position should have extremely strong research potential, and should provide evidence of success in teaching. Required education is a PhD (or PhD requirements fulfilled before July 1, 2027), in Mathematics or related field.

The position will entail teaching undergraduate and graduate classes and performing research in mathematics. Applications should include: (1) the American Mathematical Society cover sheet, (2) a curriculum vitae, (3) at least four letters of recommendation, including one discussing teaching abilities, (4) a description of research program, (5) teaching statement including evidence of teaching effectiveness and courses you could teach at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
