Job description

The Assistant Professor is a member of the ranked faculty with an intermediate academic rank who has demonstrated achievement in the areas of teaching, research, and professional service appropriate to the discipline. The Assistant Professor’s teaching responsibilities are assigned by the academic department head and may include serving as an academic advisor. The Assistant Professor engages in scholarly activities beyond those associated with teaching and is expected to demonstrate professional productivity in research, based upon the availability of resources and consistent with the mission of the University.

Overview

The Assistant Professor is expected to contribute to teaching, scholarship, and service within the Department of Marketing, College of Business, Missouri State University, and to the broader professional community.

Description of Primary Duties
  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses as assigned by the academic department head; courses may include Operations Management, Purchasing and Supply Management, Business Process Management, Introduction to Logistics, Supply Chain Management and Logistics, and Supply Chain Management & Sustainability, among others.
  • Deliver seated, blended, and/or online instruction; may provide academic advising as part of teaching responsibilities.
  • Engage in scholarly activities beyond teaching and maintain an active research agenda, with productivity consistent with the mission of the University and availability of resources.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Demonstrated track record or ability to publish in peer-reviewed quality discipline-based journals.
  • Must satisfy AACSB requirements to achieve and maintain Scholarly Academic (SA) status.
  • Commitment to professional productivity in research and ongoing scholarly activity.
  • Service to the Department of Marketing, College of Business, Missouri State University, the local/regional community, and the profession.
  • University teaching experience.
  • Ability to work well with colleagues and students; commitment to the professional success of all students.
  • Additional Qualifications: Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management or Marketing with an emphasis in Supply Chain Management/Logistics/Operations Management from an AACSB-accredited institution. ABD candidates may be considered if they can complete the doctoral degree by the start date.
