Job Overview
The Department of Health and Human Performance at East Texas A&M University invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track faculty position in Kinesiology, focusing on Exercise Science. The appointment will begin in Fall 2026, or as negotiated.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in exercise science, biomechanics, strength and conditioning, and related areas. Teaching load is a 4:4 Fall/Spring, with possible Summer teaching.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate student research, including theses and applied projects.
- Maintain an active and focused scholarly research agenda, leading to publications and external funding to support R2 research initiatives and progress toward R1.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance academic programs.
- Engage in university and professional service activities.
- Advise and mentor students academically and professionally.
Minimum Requirements
- Earned Ph.D. in Exercise Science or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution (ABD candidates will be considered if they complete the degree before the start date).
- Current NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.
- Evidence of highly effective teaching at the collegiate level.
Preferred Education / Skills / Experience
- Documented professional experience in strength and conditioning at the high school, collegiate, or professional level.
- Evidence of an active or emerging research agenda in human performance, athletic conditioning, or related areas.
- Experience supervising graduate research and/or mentoring students into professional or doctoral programs.
- Experience developing and delivering courses in hybrid or online formats.
- A documented external grant procurement history.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
