Job description

Assistant Professor In-Residence – UCSF Department of Dermatology

The Department of Dermatology of the University of California at San Francisco is seeking to appoint a new faculty member at the Assistant Professor level to establish a basic-translational research program focused on neuro‑immune interactions that contribute to cutaneous dysesthesia, pain, itch and chronic inflammatory conditions. The successful candidate will devote part of their time to clinical care at the San Francisco VA Medical Center (SFVAMC) and will be responsible for teaching residents, medical students, and house staff. The appointee will receive laboratory space in 1700 Owens, a SFVAMC‑affiliated building adjacent to the UCSF Mission Bay campus, and will be a member of the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead a basic‑translational research program on neuro‑immune interactions.
  • Provide clinical care at the San Francisco VA Medical Center.
  • Teach residents, medical students, and house staff.
  • Collaborate with the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program and other UCSF departments.
Qualifications

Compensation and Benefits

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The minimum base salary range for this position is $154,700–$200,400. The position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides eligibility for additional compensation.
