The Assistant Professor of HVAC-R Technology is a full-time faculty position responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems as part of ENMU-Roswell's HVAC Excellence-accredited program. The faculty member supports student success and workforce readiness through classroom, laboratory, and hands-on training aligned with industry standards, EPA regulations, and safe work practices.
In addition to teaching, the role includes curriculum development, assessment of student learning outcomes, student advising, and participation in departmental and institutional initiatives. The successful candidate will engage in recruitment, community outreach, and professional development activities to strengthen industry partnerships and student pathways.
The position may include evening instruction and limited travel. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, student engagement, continuous improvement, and the ability to adapt to evolving academic and institutional needs. Familiarity with HVAC Excellence standards is required, as these guide the program's curriculum and instruction.
Note: Qualified applicants who do not presently hold an Associate’s degree or required industry certifications (such as EPA 608) will be required to complete a degree and obtain certification within three years of hire date.
