Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Exercise Physiology to teach undergraduate and graduate courses across kinesiology, lead a research program, and pursue external funding. The role includes mentoring students and contributing to departmental and university service.

The candidate will have a Ph.D. in a related field, postdoctoral experience, and professional certifications (ACSM-EP/CEP, CSCS). Commitment to inclusive teaching is essential.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related discipline by the date of appointment.
• Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Exercise Physiology, Clinical Exercise Testing and Prescription, Research Methods, and Experiential Learning/Capstone.
• Postdoctoral research experience.
• Professional certification through the ACSM-EP, ACSM-CEP, CSCS, or another recognized organization.
• Evidence of collaborative scholarship or interdisciplinary research.
• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
• Submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, statement of research plans, and teaching philosophy.
• Criminal background check required

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Exercise Physiology, Clinical Exercise Testing and Prescription, Research Methods, Experiential Learning/Capstone, and related kinesiology courses.
• Establish and maintain an active program of research.
• Pursue external funding.
• Advise and mentor students.
• Participate in departmental, college, University, and professional discipline service.
• Contribute to a collaborative academic environment and the teaching, research, and service missions of the department.
• Engage in active student mentorship and support preparation for clinical, professional, and graduate careers.
