Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University seeks an Assistant Professor and Director for Pre-Licensure Clinical Placements to lead undergraduate clinical education, partnerships, and placement operations. The role blends faculty teaching with strategic program leadership across classroom, lab, and clinical settings.

You will oversee clinical placement processes, adjunct instructors, and related systems while building strong academic-practice partnerships and ensuring high-quality student experiences.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate or terminal degree in nursing or related field.
• Current RN license to practice in Pennsylvania.
• State Board licensure for states where clinical assignments occur.
• Professional teaching certification as applicable.
• Evidence of continuing education and professional memberships relevant to expertise.

Responsibilities

• Provide theory and clinical instruction using contemporary teaching methods.
• Serve as academic advisor to assigned students.
• Develop and implement a scholarly agenda with publications, presentations, or grants.
• Participate in College/University committees and leadership activities.
• Represent the College in university activities and professional organizations.
• Support recruitment and activities to enhance nursing education and practice.

Education

Doctorate in nursing or appropriate discipline

RN license in Pennsylvania

State Board licensure in applicable states

Professional certifications related to teaching

Continuing education and professional memberships
