Position: Tenured-track Assistant Professor

This opportunity is available in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology within the Arthur Riggs Diabetes & Metabolism Research Institute (AR-DMRI). AR-DMRI, a component of the Beckman Research Institute (BRI) at City of Hope, offers unique research opportunities in diabetes and cancer, fostering collaboration across disciplines such as endocrinology, diabetes, cancer metabolism, and biology of various tissues.

The Department, directed by Dr. Adolfo Garcia-Ocana, is expanding with a focus on diabetes and translation research.

Responsibilities

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Have a broad interest in understanding diabetes pathogenesis with the goal of translating insights into biomarkers, treatments, and potential cures for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • An earned doctoral degree (PhD and/or MD) with a record of scholarly accomplishments such as high-impact publications, extramural funding, and national recognition, appropriate for the Assistant Professor rank.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an open and collaborative mindset.
  • Mentoring and teaching skills.
  • Experience with interdisciplinary and inter-institutional collaborations.
  • Integrity, honesty, and inclusive behavior.
