Job summary

University of Miami Health System seeks an Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery to lead clinical care across UM Hospital and affiliated facilities. The role includes building private clinics, participating with Heart and Lung Transplant teams, and advancing minimally invasive valve and aortic surgery programs.

The candidate will supervise residents and medical students, contribute to education and research, and guide divisional strategies in line with UHealth standards.

Qualifications

• The candidate must hold an MD or MD/PhD with board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Florida Medical License and DEA certificate are required.
• 0–2 years of post-fellowship experience are expected.

Responsibilities

• Develop and regulate divisional objectives and budgets with the Chair.
• Promote the mission of UHealth in education, research and patient care.
• Provide comprehensive clinical care in all aspects of cardiac surgery including pediatric and adult cases.
• Supervise residents and teach medical students across training programs.
• Establish private clinics at UM Hospital and Jackson Memorial Hospitals and participate in care at affiliated sites.
