North Central College is seeking a visiting professor for a 1-year position in Criminology starting August 1, 2025. Ideal candidates will possess a Ph.D. and demonstrate teaching excellence, mentoring skills, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Position Summary:
The Department of Sociology, Criminology, & Anthropology in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for a 1-year, visiting position in Criminology to begin August 1, 2025. Candidates will be considered regardless of field of specialization. Teaching excellence is paramount, and the experience instructing a range of undergraduate courses in the criminology curriculum, including race, gender, class, and crime, is required. Applicants should also demonstrate their experience in mentoring of undergraduate students. Successful applicants are expected to have completed their Ph.D. in Criminology or a closely related field by August 2025. A JD alone is not sufficient. The contract is for 9.5 months with a competitive salary and 3-3 teaching load.
