Job summary

Fresh Express is seeking an Assistant Production Supervisor to assist with shift start-up, fulfill customer demands, and coordinate people and materials. You will help supervise finished goods production, ensuring quality, safety, yield, line efficiency, and productivity.

Responsibilities include set-up, sanitation, operation, troubleshooting packaging lines, maintaining inventory, and training line staff. Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and in a 34-degree cold environment is required.

Qualifications

• Some college or vocational school preferred.
• Two or more years related experience or equivalent food processing experience and GMP knowledge is plus.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Highly-motivated person who is able to multi-task in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Team-oriented with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work during days, nights and weekends as necessary.
• Work in a cold environment at 34 degrees

Responsibilities

• Supervises and participates in set-up, sanitation, operation, and routine maintenance of packaging lines and supporting equipment/systems.
• Responsible for trouble shooting packaging equipment problems.
• Ensures that lines are supplied with all necessary components.
• Keeps inventory on packaging components and confirms there are enough components for the line to run completely.
• Inspects coding machines to ensure code number is in reference to lot number.
• Assigns packaging personnel to positions on the lines at the beginning of the shift.
• Assigns packaging personnel clean up duties.
• Train packaging machine operators and line equipment operators
