The Assistant Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising employees to maximize employee safety, food quality, and productivity. Key responsibilities include daily safety observations, production monitoring, lot control, inventory accuracy, reporting, sanitation, housekeeping, and adherence to standard operating procedures. Assures correct preparation of products and finished goods. Shared responsibility for safety training, new methods e.g. 5 S, standardize work and methods improvements.



This position mayrequire the employee to work overtime as needed. Overtime is scheduled based upon individual job responsibilities and the needs of the department.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.




  • Conduct safety line inspections and department safety audits

  • Create daily and overtime schedules

  • Delegate responsibilities to line group leaders and other employees

  • Quality (high quality production, quality audits, clean environment) HACCP, Verification of CCP's

  • Assist in performing new hire orientation trainings

  • Report and review employee disciplinary issues with supervisor

  • Sanitation and housekeeping

  • Perform other duties as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE



  • Minimum of 2 years within a production environment required

  • Experience within Food and Beverage manufacturing industry preferred

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience required; BA/BS preferred



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES



  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) required

  • Production Lead experience preferred

  • Capability to prioritize and organize workload required

  • Ability to foster teamwork required

  • Good verbal & written communication skills required

  • Proficiency in MS Office, basic computer skills and the internet required



BENEFITS & SALARY



Jel Sert Company is committed to pay transparency and will provide further compensation information during the interview process. minimum compensation for the Assistant Production Supervisor is $26.00 per hour. Due to this being a 3rd shift opportunity, the shift differential to be paid for all time worked on 3rd shift is an additional $2.00 per hour. Compensation is determined by a candidate's experience, education, skills, training, and the internal equity within our organization. Actual compensation to be paid will be determined upon an offer.
