Job summary

ALSCO Laramie is seeking an Assistant Production Manager to support the Production Manager in organizing and supervising daily operations in the Production Department. You will help hire, train, and evaluate staff, and work with engineering, sales, and service teams to ensure smooth plant operations.

The role emphasizes improving labor utilization, production efficiency, and safety while maintaining budgets and company policies.

Qualifications

• Organizational skills and time management are essential for coordinating production tasks.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff to meet production goals.
• Recognize colors, sizes, and types of products to ensure correct processing.
• Count, add, and subtract accurately to track inventory and production output.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication; follow instructions and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Production Manager in organizing and supervising the Production Department.
• May hire and train new staff or assist with this process.
• Conduct or assist with performance evaluations as requested by the Manager.
• Assist with employment actions, including discipline and termination per policy.
• Suggest changes in methods or equipment to improve labor utilization and efficiency.
• Provide training in all production areas and coordinate with engineering, sales, and service management.
• Ensure production policies, procedures, standards, and budgets are followed.
• Monitor quality, housekeeping, safety, and department adherence to standards.
• Attend meetings and follow supervision directions; perform additional tasks as assigned.
