Job summary

The Arc Erie County New York seeks an experienced Assistant Principal for our School Age Program in Cheektowaga, NY. In this role, you will work with the School Principal to support teachers, strengthen classroom instruction, and create meaningful learning opportunities for students aged 5–22 with developmental disabilities.

You will oversee operations, guide educational programming, ensure IEP compliance, and build strong relationships with students, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Must hold NYS Permanent or Professional Certification.
• Must hold NYS SAS, SDA, or SBL certification.
• Five years of experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
• Two or more years of supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership skills and a passion for special education.

Responsibilities

• Support daily school operations and provide leadership to teachers and classroom staff.
• Oversee curriculum development, classroom instruction, and IEP implementation.
• Coach and mentor educators to promote a positive, engaging learning environment.
• Collaborate with families, school districts, and interdisciplinary teams.

What We’re Looking For:
