Job summary

Henry County Schools seeks an Assistant Principal to support the Principal in leadership services and school operations. The role focuses on instructional quality, student safety, and family engagement while overseeing staff supervision and CSIP progress.

Candidates must hold or be eligible for a Georgia Educational Leadership Certificate (Level 5+) and have at least three years of educational experience, with a reliable on-site presence and strong ethics.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for a Georgia Educational Leadership Certificate, Level 5 or higher.
• Minimum of three years of successful educational experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of standards, curriculum, and instruction.
• Exceptional integrity, confidentiality, and professional reputation.
• Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
• Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
• Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
• Must perform tasks involving standing, walking, and sitting for prolonged periods.
• Must supervise students safely, including during emergencies.
• Must perform routine physical activities (bending, lifting up to 50 pounds).
• Vision, hearing, and written/verbal communications are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility in the absence of the Principal.
• Keep the Principal apprised of activities and developments affecting the school.
• Ensure high-quality instructional implementation and formative assessment.
• Assist with family and community engagement and feedback to improve engagement.
• Assist in supervision, observation, and evaluation of staff.
• Assist CSIP development and monitoring to improve student performance.
• Assist with supervision of extracurricular activities.
• Assist with supervision of student and staff conduct and progress toward goals.
• Assist in establishing a positive school climate with high expectations.
• Assist in implementing procedures for a safe and orderly school environment.
• Supervise student activities, assemblies, and events; organize student activities and scheduling.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
