Job summary

New Paradigm for Education seeks an Assistant Principal to join our PreK-12 schools in Detroit, MI. You’ll work with the Principal to supervise students, support classroom and school discipline policies, and lead interventions across PBIS and RTI within a rigorous, supportive environment.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree (Education preferred), a Michigan Teaching Certificate, and a path toward Michigan Administrator Certification, with 3+ years of teaching and 1+ year experience

Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education
• Current Michigan Teaching Certificate highly preferred
• Must possess - or be on a path to receive - valid Michigan Administrator Certification
• 3+ years of teaching experience
• 1+ years of managing adults in an instructional setting

Responsibilities

• Assists the Principal in the supervision and guidance of students and supports classroom and school discipline policies
• Supports and leads the Solutions process and implementation of PBIS and RTI
• Coordinates and conducts staff meetings related to curriculum and program development
• Oversees daily school operations including scheduling, communication, and staff morale
• Coordinates school events, conferences, standardized testing, and progress reports
