Job summary

LeafSpring School at Ballantyne in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Assistant Preschool Teacher to join a lively early learning community. You’ll support the Lead Teacher, help implement play-based activities, manage routines, and provide attentive care to infants, toddlers, or preschoolers.

You’ll work in a nurturing classroom focused on developmentally appropriate practices, with opportunities for advancement, paid training, and tuition assistance. A friendly, patient team player is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CDA or enrollment in Early Childhood Education courses is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young children.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines including circle time, story time, snack, outdoor play, and rest time.
• Assist with lesson planning and curriculum implementation based on children’s developmental needs and interests.
• Supervise children during transitions, group play, and hands-on activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment aligned with state licensing regulations.
• Encourage independence and social interaction through positive guidance strategies.
• Observe and document children’s behavior and milestones for families and staff.
