Job summary

LeafSpring School at Ballantyne is seeking an Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our vibrant early learning community. You will work closely with the Lead Teacher to deliver nurturing, safe, and engaging learning experiences for infants to preschoolers.

You will support play-based activities, daily routines, and individualized development, contributing to a collaborative, positive classroom culture. This role offers growth opportunities and a focus on family partnerships.

Qualifications

• Friendly, patient and enthusiastic about working with young children.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• High school diploma or GED required; CDA or enrollment in Early Childhood Education courses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines including circle time, story time, snack, outdoor play, and rest time.
• Assist with lesson planning and curriculum implementation based on children's developmental needs and interests.
• Supervise children during classroom transitions, group play, and hands-on activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment aligned with state licensing regulations.
• Encourage independence, self-help skills, and social interaction through positive guidance strategies.
• Observe and document children's behavior and milestones for communication with families and the teaching team.
• Provide age-appropriate support for infants, toddlers, or preschoolers, depending on assigned classroom.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a supportive, inclusive early childhood learning environment.
