Lake Superior YMCA in Hermantown, MN is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support early childhood education in a safe, nurturing environment. The role involves implementing the center’s curriculum, assisting in infant/t toddler/preschool classrooms, and coordinating daily lesson plans with the Lead Teacher.

The position is part-time, with a regular schedule and the potential for extended hours during center needs.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required for this role.
• Minnesota DHS Netstudy2.0 background check must be successfully completed.
• No specific degree required; relevant childcare experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Y requirements.
• Supervise children and classrooms; assist in infant/toddler/preschool activities.
• Assist in developing daily lesson plans with the Lead Teacher.
• Instruct and supervise children in social and developmental activities.
• Assist with feeding, snacks, and meal preparation.
• Participate in family nights, staff meetings, and trainings.
