Job summary

The Learning Experience in Manassas, VA is seeking a passionate Assistant Director to help lead our preschool team and create an engaging, high-quality learning environment for children and families.

You will work closely with the Center Director to hire, train, and develop staff, ensure licensing compliance, and build a positive center culture that supports teaching excellence and family engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in a licensed daycare, preschool, or early childhood education setting.
• Leadership experience or readiness to move into a director-level role.
• Familiarity with Virginia childcare licensing requirements.
• Strong coaching and team development skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities and prioritization.
• Effective communication with families and staff.
• Willingness to jump in and support wherever needed.
• Desire to advance your career in early childhood education.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support the teaching team.
• Create a positive, welcoming center culture.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and staff development.
• Maintain safe, engaging, high-quality classrooms.
• Ensure Virginia licensing, health, and safety compliance.
• Support staffing and daily center operations.
• Build strong relationships with current families.
• Assist with center tours and enrollment.
• Support implementation of the L.E.A.P. Curriculum.
• Participate in community events and center activities.
• Step into classrooms to support the team when needed.
