Job summary

The Learning Experience in Manassas, VA is seeking a passionate Assistant Director to help lead our preschool team and create an engaging, high-quality learning environment for children and families.

You will work closely with the Center Director to hire, train, and develop staff, ensure licensing compliance, and build a positive center culture that supports teaching excellence and family engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in a licensed daycare, preschool, or early childhood education setting.
• Leadership experience or readiness to move into a director-level role.
• Familiarity with Virginia childcare licensing requirements.
• Strong coaching and team development skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities and prioritization.
• Effective communication with families and staff.
• Willingness to jump in and support wherever needed.
• Desire to advance your career in early childhood education.

• Lead, coach, and support the teaching team.

What You'll Do

As Assistant Director, you'll work alongside the Center Director to help create an amazing experience for our children, families, and teachers.

You’ll help:

• Lead, coach, and support our teaching team
• Create a positive, welcoming center culture
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, and staff development
• Maintain safe, engaging, high-quality classrooms
• Ensure compliance with Virginia licensing, health, and safety requirements
• Support staffing and daily center operations
• Build strong relationships with current families
• Welcome prospective families and assist with center tours and enrollment
• Help implement our proprietary L.E.A.P.® Curriculum
• Support family retention and center enrollment goals
• Participate in community events and center activities
• Step into classrooms and support the team when needed
