Under the direction of the Occupational Health Services Practice Manager, provide supervision and development of front office staff. Participate in a collaborative team effort with practice manager to ensure operational efficiency and high-quality service within Occupational Health Services (OHS). The position is responsible for the supervision of front office staff including scheduling, recruiting, hiring, employee performance annual reviews, corrective actions and related personnel activities. Direct, coordinate and monitor all front office administrative functions to ensure compliance with legal, university and departmental procedures. Promote efficiency, effective communication and teamwork among staff and ensure adherence to the highest standards of safety for patients and staff. Assist practice manager with communications, training activities and operational workflow efficiency for clinic staff to support the providers in the Occupational Healthcare setting.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as a supervisor in a clinical setting that encompassed recruitments, training, scheduling, evaluating performance and managing disciplinary actions.
  • Knowledge of University California Davis campus policies and procedures.
  • Strong political and institutional acumen sufficient to accomplish needed action in a complex public research university environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic medical records system Enterprise Health.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an ambulatory clinic in a college health setting.
  • Experience with Workers' Compensation law and processes, preferably California's.

UC Davis Occupational Health Services is responsible for worker health and safety in a highly diverse teaching, research, and support service environment. The population served exceeds 25,000 covered lives representing 9,500 clinic encounters in the preceding year. Regulatory oversight of OH programs includes OSHA (Cal OSHA), CA DIR, CA Department of Public Health and Yolo Co. Health, US Department of Transportation, HIPAA, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. OHS supports the research environment and ensures medical compliance with recommendations and standards of NIH, CDC, AAALAC and USDA. A failure to meet the objectives and regulations of these programs can result in bad patient outcomes including injury and death, fines, and loss of accreditation resulting in the loss of ability to continue campus programs.
