Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Assistant Supply Chain Manager - Power in Minneapolis, MN, to oversee project buyers and procurement for substations, wind collection systems, and transmission lines. You’ll lead day-to-day supply chain operations, drive supplier coordination, and ensure cost-effective sourcing aligned with contracts and risk standards.

Collaborate with project leadership, engineering teams, and external vendors to optimize materials and equipment delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline.
7+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including procurement.
Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience working with construction, energy, or critical-infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Partner with project teams to align supply chain strategies with goals and timelines.
Develop and implement package strategies with leadership to improve cost, delivery, and risk.
Lead commercial review and negotiations with suppliers to ensure contract alignment.
Coordinate with Legal, Operations, and Risk teams on contract terms and compliance.
Manage and coach the Buyer team to deliver results and growth.
Maintain supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery.
