Job summary

Calqulate Metrics Ltd in Richmond, VA is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support heavy civil and highway projects. You will manage submittals, RFIs, procurement, and cost tracking, with increasing responsibility as you prove capability on active Virginia projects.

You will coordinate subcontractors, monitor budgets, and assist with owner/interfaces, schedule updates, and change management. Relocation support is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years on heavy civil, highway, or utility projects (field engineer, project engineer, or current APM).
• Working knowledge of scheduling and cost tracking; HeavyJob, Bluebeam, or P6 exposure is a plus.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, and/or equivalent field experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive submittals, RFIs, and procurement schedules to keep field crews ahead.
• Coordinate subcontractors and supplier purchase orders to protect schedule.
• Track quantities, production, and costs against budget and flag variances.
• Support monthly payment requisitions, cost projections, and project docs.
• Attend weekly project team meetings on schedule and cost review; learn profitability practices.
• Support a safety culture across the project.
