Job summary

Jobot in Lake in the Hills, IL is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support heavy civil and site development projects on-site. The role offers a clear path from field work to project leadership, with mentoring from senior leadership and a strong backlog of industrial and public-sector projects.

You will assist with scheduling, budgeting, RFIs, submittals, and documentation while maintaining quality, safety, and production tracking in a fast-paced field environment.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in construction
• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
• Experience with earthwork, excavation, or site development is a strong plus
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, boots-on-the-ground environment
• Familiarity with Procore, HCSS, or similar platforms is a plus

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in executing heavy civil and site development projects
• Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and cost control
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
• Help maintain quality, safety, and production tracking
• Participate in project meetings with internal teams and clients
• Track quantities, productivity, and change orders
