100 Church Street Club Inc. is seeking a Play Supervisor to support the Play Manager in delivering high-quality play adventures and ensuring the team is trained, motivated, and aligned with club standards.

You will help plan, resource, and run both structured and free play activities, recruit and develop the Play Team, and maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the club environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an associate's degree (bachelor's preferred) in Education, Early Childhood Development, or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Minimum 2 years supervising children's activities in professional settings such as childcare or educational environments.
  • Montessori setting experience is strongly preferred.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Play Manager with programming and planning based on London flagship club, ensuring local relevance and pre-emptive issue identification.
  • Join weekly planning calls with senior Play leads and Managers to discuss feedback, issues, support needs, and training.
  • Lead and motivate the Play Team, modeling best practices and ensuring HR policy compliance.
  • Conduct regular development meetings with the team throughout the year.
  • Assist with recruitment for the Play Team following company processes.
  • Support daily operation of the Play studio, ensuring delivery of structured and free play per club guidelines and themes.
  • Ensure Play Team has materials to deliver signature classes and adventures.
  • Assist with inventory audits and coordinating material orders with approval.
  • Oversee play experiences, intervene when necessary, and support fair play across the space.

About this position

Description: This is a new position and will play a key role supporting the Play Manager in ensuring that Purple Dragon’s vision of “becoming the World’s Best Club for Families” is achieved by helping to lead the play team, ensuring they are fully trained in their roles, motivated and delivering play adventures to the company standard, as well as assisting with the planning and resourcing at the club.

Play is the heart of our business, and we take it seriously. It’s how children learn and whilst we’re a hospitality business, there’s an educational by-product to what we do.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Working with the Play Manager to review the programming and planning, developed by the flagship club in London, to ensure they are culturally and locally appropriate, and identify any potential issues in advance.
  • Join the weekly planning call with all senior Play leads and Managers to discuss feedback about the programming and planning, any arising issues, support requirements, and training and development needs.
  • Help lead and motivate the Play Team and model best practiceto ensure the play team follows company expectations in line with HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with regular development meetings with the team throughout the year.
  • Assist with recruitment for the Play Team ensuring the company recruitment process is followed.
  • Work with the Play Manager to help with the daily operation of the Play studio and ensure that both structured and free play activities are delivered according to the club guidelines and themed programming.
  • Ensure that the Play Team has all the material required to deliver signature classes and other club adventures.
  • Assist with inventory audits, support the team with coordination of materials, and when required, place orders for consumables and play material with the Play Manager’s approval.
  • Help oversee the play experiences throughout the facility, assist and intervene where appropriate.
  • Assist in implementing our fair play code, leading by example and communicating consistently.
Additional Duties
  • Ensure safeguarding for the club, assisting with training team members both within Play and across the other departments.
  • In the Play Manager’s absence, be the contact point for parents and guardians of the children within the club, as well as making sure that all children within the space are members or registered guests of members.
  • Ensure the environment is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, in line with the club’s procedures and policies. Be alert to safety hazards at work, completing appropriate checks and recording and reporting of hazards and incidents.
  • Perform such other duties as the Management of the Club might reasonably expect appropriate to the job grade including opening or closing the Club.
Requirements
  • Minimum of an associate's degree, bachelor's degree preferred, especially one in a relevant field (Education, Early childhood development, business management).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in supervising children’s activities in professional settings such as childcare, play or educational environments.
  • Experience in Montessori setting strongly preferred.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
