How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Position Title: Assistant Plant Manager

- Salem, NH

- Monday - Friday

- 1st Shift

The Assistant Plant Manager supervises the day-to-day activities for multiple segments of the industrial, specialty, and medical distribution and gas filling operations at a plant. This role involves managing gas cylinder processing, ultrasonic testing, and ensuring compliance with FDA, DOT, OSHA, EPA, SAFECORE, and other relevant regulations.

  • Supervises associates involved in plant operations, quality assurance, and transportation.
  • Coordinates with other Plant Supervisors for smooth daily operations.
  • Promotes safety and compliance, addressing unsafe acts or conditions promptly.
  • Assigns tasks based on customer needs, stock levels, and employee skills.
  • Studies production schedules, estimates worker hours, and maintains records.
  • Enforces safety regulations and company policies.
  • Implements improvements to production methods, equipment, and working conditions to enhance efficiency.
  • Resolves work problems and assists workers as needed.
  • Recommends personnel actions such as hiring, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary measures.
  • Trains new and cross-trained employees to ensure continuous production.
  • Assists with planning and managing capital investments.
  • Manages inventory levels of supplies and equipment.
  • Performs additional duties and projects as assigned.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Business, or related field required. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in manufacturing or distribution, preferably with technical gas-related knowledge.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage metrics for improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Basic math skills for measurements, rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Self-motivated, organized, able to work independently and in teams.
  • Detail-oriented with accurate compliance documentation skills.
  • Dedicated to quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally and more with equipment assistance.
  • Adheres to Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and related regulations.
