Job Summary

Location: Dearborn, MI

This role oversees the operation and maintenance of utility and energy assets at Ford's Research and Engineering campus, including managing field service engineers responsible for ~90 MW of backup generation assets across Metro Detroit.

Key Accountabilities

*Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety/environmental standards.

*Develop and implement plant operating philosophies to maximize efficiency and productivity.

*Manage contractors and ensure adherence to policies and safety requirements.

*Review, improve, and train operational processes; manage maintenance schedules and performance goals.

*Investigate operational issues, prepare reports, and collaborate on budget and project management.

*Lead continuous improvement initiatives, develop personnel skills, and support change management.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 8 years supervisory experience in a cogeneration power plant with a union workforce

Other Qualifications

Preferred: Technical degrees or equivalent experience.

• Strong knowledge of plant operations, maintenance, and engineering.
• Experience in planning, scheduling, and cost analysis.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work flexible hours.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Requires physical activity such as standing, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, working in confined spaces, and exposure to various environmental conditions. Must pass respirator fit tests and have suitable vision capabilities.
