The Assistant Plant Manager supervises the day-to-day activities for multiple segments of the industrial, specialty, and medical distribution and gas filling operations for a plant. This position assists with managing all gas cylinder processing, ultrasonic testing, and compliance with all Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), SAFECORE, and other related compliance activities.
Coordinates and partners with other Plant Supervisors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Promotes a strong safety and compliance culture, correcting unsafe acts or conditions without delay.
Assigns tasks to workers based on customer needs, current stock levels, and worker expertise.
Studies production schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completing job assignments. Maintains time and production records.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product, and changes working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work issues.
Recommends or initiates employee actions such as new hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, performance improvements, and disciplinary measures.
Trains new workers and cross-trains employees to ensure continuous production during personnel shortages.
Assists the Plant Manager with planning and managing capital investments.
Coordinates inventory levels of supplies and equipment.
Performs additional duties and projects as assigned.

Are you a MATCH?
Prior experience with SAP preferred.
Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage metrics to improve efficiency.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
Self-motivated, organized, able to work independently and in teams.
Detail-oriented with neat and accurate compliance documentation.
Dedication to product quality and customer satisfaction.
Ability to traverse office and manufacturing locations, occasionally move up to 60 pounds, and operate in various environmental conditions.
Minimal travel required.
Work environment includes mechanical parts, electric shocks, loud noises, and odors, with temperature variations from -10 to over 100 degrees.
