Job Description
A partner company is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager for a manufacturing facility located in Blaine, WA. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring high-quality and efficient food production while managing production, warehouse, and safety teams. The Assistant Plant Manager will foster a culture of continuous improvement, optimize operational performance, and align plant activities with the company’s strategic goals.
Location
Blaine, WA
Salary: $145,000 - $170,000 base + 20% bonus
Travel: Up to 15% (1-2 trips per year)
Responsibilities
- Optimize production to meet quality, cost, and food safety standards using best practices in GMPs, SOPs, TQM, and LEAN manufacturing.
- Maximize equipment performance through preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Lead the operational launch of new products ensuring cost-effective execution.
- Mentor and empower managers and team leaders to create a high-performing workforce.
- Foster a positive work environment and engage employees through servant leadership.
- Ensure training and development programs to meet operational needs.
- Drive cost efficiency by optimizing resources and reducing waste.
- Monitor operational budgets and financial performance to meet business objectives.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) compliance.
- Uphold the highest food safety and quality assurance standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations (preferably in the food industry).
- Strong background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement (Six Sigma).
- In-depth knowledge of safety, compliance, and food production standards.
- Experience in managing budgets and optimizing resources.
