Job description

A partner company is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager for a manufacturing facility located in Blaine, WA. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring high-quality and efficient food production while managing production, warehouse, and safety teams. The Assistant Plant Manager will foster a culture of continuous improvement, optimize operational performance, and align plant activities with the company's strategic goals.

Salary

$145,000 - $170,000 base + 20% bonus

Travel

Up to 15% (1-2 trips per year)

Responsibilities

1. Optimize production to meet quality, cost, and food safety standards using best practices in GMPs, SOPs, TQM, and LEAN manufacturing.
2. Maximize equipment performance through preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
3. Lead the operational launch of new products ensuring cost-effective execution.
4. Mentor and empower managers and team leaders to create a high-performing workforce.
5. Foster a positive work environment and engage employees through servant leadership.
6. Ensure training and development programs to meet operational needs.
7. Drive cost efficiency by optimizing resources and reducing waste.
8. Monitor operational budgets and financial performance to meet business objectives.
9. Enforce safety protocols and maintain Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) compliance.
10. Uphold the highest food safety and quality assurance standards.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
2. 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations (preferably in the food industry).
3. Strong background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement (Six Sigma preferred).
4. In-depth knowledge of safety, compliance, and food production standards.
5. Experience in managing budgets and optimizing resources.
