Job summary

Owens-Illinois, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Plant Engineer to support the Plant Engineer in directing salaried and hourly staff across all plant systems, with emphasis on installation, repair, and maintenance of facilities.

The role requires an electrical background, strong maintenance leadership, and the ability to communicate across levels of the organization. Occasional coordination with outside contractors is expected.

Qualifications

• Trade school or Bachelor degree in Engineering would be preferred; high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience required.
• Industrial electrical experience required.
• 5 years of experience in a maintenance leadership position in a manufacturing facility, glass industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise all construction and service work performed by outside contractors.
• Conduct periodic inspections of all plant systems, equipment, facilities and grounds.
• Review shift operations, make decisions, and implement actions relative to changes on shifts that may impact processing, procedures, personnel, equipment, and customer requirements.
• Track downtime and provide solutions to decrease downtime.

Job Description

TheAssistant Plant Engineerassists the Plant Engineer in leading and directing salaried and hourly personnel engaged in all phases of the plant engineering function, including installation, and repair and maintenance of all plant systems, equipment, grounds and facilities.

• Experience with maintenance management software
• Experience in a maintenance leadership role

Salary Range:The expected salary range for this position is between$91,330 - $115,000and includes a possible12%quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
