Job summary

First Nations Jobs Online seeks an Assistant Planner in Brentwood, CA to support current planning and manage residential and commercial development projects from review through approval and implementation.

You will evaluate plans, ensure compliance with the General Plan and zoning, coordinate with departments and outside agencies, and contribute to staff reports and public hearings ensuring high-quality outcomes for the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning, architecture, or related field.
• One year of responsible professional or paraprofessional urban or regional planning and zoning experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review development proposals and assess consistency with the General Plan and zoning regulations.
• Coordinate with City departments, developers, and the public to move projects from review to approval.
• Prepare staff reports, resolutions, and public hearing notices; monitor conditions of approval.
