Description:

The Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISE) atthe University of Houston invites applications for a tenure-trackfaculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank,specializing in Human Factors, beginning in Fall 2027. Successfulcandidates will be expected to establish or sustain a nationallyrecognized, externally funded research program; teach undergraduateand graduate courses; mentor students; and contribute toprofessional, departmental, college, and university service.Candidates should have a strong methodological foundation andresearch expertise in at least one of the three areas: research,teaching and service.

Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in industrial andsystems engineering or a closely related field by the appointmentdate. Successful candidates are expected to establish a nationallyrecognized, externally funded research program and contribute tothe department’s teaching mission. Candidates must demonstratestrong potential for excellence in scholarship, teaching, andservice and for securing competitive research funding.

Salary and rank commensurate with experience.

The Department: The ISE Department has 24full-time faculty members and approximately 900 students enrolledin bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programs. Thedepartment is experiencing rapid growth in both research activityand student enrollment.
