Position Overview: The Assistant Press Operator is an apprentice to the pressman, supporting all aspects of press operation to ensure smooth production. The role involves assisting with setup, operation, and maintenance tasks, and working collaboratively with team members to meet customer expectations and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the pressman in daily operations
• Operate the press in the absence of the pressman
• Supervise feeder and helper staff
• Participate in make-ready procedures and blanket cleaning
• Assist with roller changes and report generation
• Prepare documentation for upcoming jobs
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a mechanical skills assessment
• Effective reading, writing, and speaking skills
• Basic mathematical skills and ability to interpret data
• Ability to solve practical problems and follow instructions
• Completion of RCRA training for hazardous waste handling

Work Schedule & Compensation:

• Monday to Friday, with rotating days off
• Day shift: 6am – 6pm; Night shift: 6pm – 6am
• Night shift premium: $1.50/hour

Physical & Environmental Conditions:

Role involves physical activities such as lifting, climbing, bending, and working above ground. Must not be colorblind. Work environment includes loud noise, mechanical hazards, and exposure to dust, fumes, and heat. PPE is required at all times.
