Job summary

Porter Logistics in Atlanta is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to support daily warehouse operations at our high-volume facility. You will work closely with the Operations Manager, lead a team of warehouse staff, and ensure accurate receiving, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping.

You will be actively on the floor, coaching teammates, coordinating with clients, and stepping in as acting Operations Manager when needed to keep the operation running safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of warehouse operations experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience leading teams (Lead, Supervisor, or similar role).
• Strong understanding of WMS systems, RF scanning, and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing all warehouse functions including receiving, put-away, inventory control, picking, packing, and outbound shipping.
• Monitor workflow to maintain efficiency, accuracy, and throughput targets.
• Lead a team of warehouse associates, leads, and forklift operators.
• Coach, train, provide performance feedback, and uphold accountability.
• Promote core values and lead daily shift meetings.
• Support client communication, issue resolution, and reporting.
• Identify process improvements and document SOPs.
• Act as acting Operations Manager when needed.
