Job summary

Mattress Firm is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to support day-to-day operations in our distribution center, supervising staff and driving efficiency. You’ll ensure safety policies, SOP compliance, and world-class service to customers and internal partners.

You will lead team meetings, mentor direct reports, and help achieve financial targets while supporting onboarding and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a hands-on DC role in Garner, NC with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the efficient day-to-day operations of the distribution center.
• Contribute to meeting overall financial objectives of the distribution center.
• Lead regular team meetings and one-on-one coaching.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and SOPs.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the distribution center.
• Verify driver payroll for accuracy.
• Conduct required cycle counts and correct discrepancies.
• Onboard new team members.
