Mattress Firm in Earth City, MO is hiring an Assistant Operations Manager to help oversee daily DC operations and supervise the distribution-center team. You will support financial objectives, ensure safety and policy adherence, and drive efficiency across key processes.

Ideal candidates have strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to onboarding new staff and maintaining world-class service for internal and external customers.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
2+ years related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in the efficient day-to-day operations of the distribution center.
Contribute to meeting overall financial objectives of the distribution center compared to budget.
Create and foster an environment of trust, open two-way communication, and cohesive team effort.
Ensure alignment with strategic vision and communicate organizational mission and values to the team.
Communicate with team members through regular and frequent meetings.
Hold one-on-one meetings with direct reports at least twice a month.
Ensure adherence to operational processes, policies, and procedures.
Identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives in the distribution center.
Facilitate resolution of customer service issues.
Verify driver payroll for accuracy.
Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date.
