The Assistant Operations Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for managing daily operations, including route supervision, dispatch, employee coaching, customer complaint resolution, and ensuring compliance with company policies and budget. This position is based in Allentown, PA, at our LANTA contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations and coordinate staff activities
• Oversee scheduling and monitor service delivery
• Investigate employee and customer complaints
• Coordinate with maintenance and safety departments
• Manage performance metrics and process improvements
• Assist in incident investigations and emergency responses
• Operate a vehicle if necessary
• Utilize dispatch software (Ecolane) and MDT equipment
• Assign trips, monitor vehicle availability, and handle incidents
• Administer discipline and enforce policies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's preferred
• Valid driver’s license in good standing
• Relevant transit supervisory and dispatch experience preferred
• Knowledge of transit laws, operations, and software
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Availability for flexible scheduling and minimal travel

Physical Requirements

• Work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Sit, walk, lift, and perform physical tasks as needed
