Job summary

The US Department of Veterans Affairs seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager to support the Nurse Manager in directing 24/7 unit operations. You will supervise staff development, orientation, and performance evaluation while providing coverage for other ANMs as needed.

Qualified candidates hold a nursing degree (ADN/BSN/MSN) and are currently licensed as a nurse in the United States, with English proficiency for direct patient care.

Qualifications

• English proficiency required for direct patient care (per 38 U.S.C. 7403)
• Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by accrediting bodies
• Current, full, active, unrestricted nursing license in a U.S. state or territory
• Foreign-educated nurses require degree equivalency validation when applicable

Responsibilities

• Assist Nurse Manager with supervision and accountability for 24/7 unit operations
• Direct and supervise orientation, training, and development of staff
• Evaluate staff performance and provide coverage for other Assistant Nurse Managers as needed
