Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced RN to lead the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. The role requires strong critical care background, BSN preferred, and at least one year in supervision.

In this on-site position, you will coordinate daily workflow, supervise PACU staff, and collaborate with nursing leadership to uphold standards of care and age-appropriate patient services. Current RN license and BCLS are required; specialty certification within one year of hire; this demanding role

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with one year PACU experience. BSN degree preferred. Extensive experience in critical care or PACU setting. One year previous supervisory experience preferred.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATIO

N: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of applicable state and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required. Certification in specialty required within one year of hire.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Communicates and collaborates with the Manager, Director Nurse Anesthesia & PACU regarding departmental philosophy, goals, support needs and standards of care to ensure the highest quality of age appropriate patient care is provided.
• Directs and evaluates the activities of the clinical PACU staff.
• Promotes and facilitates the professional growth of staff members.
• Coordinates, facilitates, and mediates daily workflow utilizing management principles and strategies.
• Ensures that age/developmentally appropriate patient care is provided for the age groups served.
