Job summary

United Surgical Partners International, Inc. is seeking a PACU nurse for our Texas facility. Under the direct supervision of the PACU manager, you will implement physician orders and provide continuous, safe nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia.

We offer a no weekend, no holiday call policy and focus on ambulatory surgical services across ENT, GI, general surgery, and more, with emphasis on patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout recovery.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license to practice nursing in the state.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in PACU.
• Telemetry experience preferred.
• CPR certified. ACLS certification required within 6 months of employment.
• Experience with perioperative care and sterile technique.
• Strong communication and human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement physician orders and provide continuous nursing care in PACU.
• Assess patient condition and ensure safety, comfort, and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms and with conscious sedation as needed.
• Prepare patients for discharge and coordinate post-anesthesia care.

Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all time. At times, assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate.

Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.

Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Required Skills:

Education, Training And Experience

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Currently licensed in the state
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
• Minimum of 2 years experience in PACU
