Job summary

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with one year PACU experience. BSN degree preferred. Extensive experience in critical care or PACU setting. One year previous supervisory experience preferred.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATIO

N: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of applicable state and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required. Certification in specialty required within one year of hire.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Communicates and collaborates with the Manager, Director Nurse Anesthesia & PACU regarding departmental philosophy, goals, support needs and standards of care to ensure the highest quality of age appropriate patient care is provided. 2. Directs and evaluates the activities of the clinical PACU staff. 3. Promotes and facilitates the professional growth of staff members. 4. Coordinates, facilitates, and mediates daily workflow utilizing management principles and strategies. 5. Ensures that age/developmentally appropriate patient care is provided for the age groups served.
