Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking qualified nursing staff for acute care floors. The role involves routinely providing patient care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, maintaining employee records, and supporting staff education and development.

You will participate in discharge planning, community referrals, and quality improvement initiatives, while overseeing unit operations in a cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities

• Routinely provide patient care.

• Identifies needs for and provides Staff education/staff development.
• Participates in Discharge planning, community resource referrals, and education.
• Committee involvement, participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Oversees daily operations of unit/area in a cost-effective manner.
• Involved in Community outreach activities as pertinent Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers and co-workers.
• Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment.
• Displays commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Job description

A Brief Overview
2 Surgical is a 17 bed Surgical Acute Care floor that specializes in Bariatric, Neurological, Orthopedic and Gender Care patient surgeries.

7 Surgical is a 26 bed General Surgical/Medical floor that care for general surgery patients, as well as overflow from our sister 2 Surgical floor

To maintain the nursing staff in all areas as well as to deliver safe efficient age specific nursing care to patient/families.
