Job summary

Baptist Downtown is hiring an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Main Operating Room team in Downtown Jacksonville. This full-time day shift role requires an RN with 2+ years in the OR, ASN degree, and BLS/ACLS certs. You will oversee nursing care, unit function, and staff development while coordinating with surgeons and vendors.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
• Active RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients on the unit.
• Assess and reassess unit function; liaison for staff, physicians and departments.
• Mentor growth and provide feedback to staff.
• Monitor and adjust manhours in accordance with unit budget.
• Assist manager with disciplinary issues and annual performance reviews.
• Coordinate with surgeons and vendors; keep preference sheets current.
• Be able to scrub, assist or circulate in the OR.

Assistant Nurse Manager, Job Responsibilities:

• Providing nursing care to patients on the unit
• The assessment and reassessment of unit function; serves as a liaison for staff, physicians and other departments.
• Providing resource for staff members as well as mentors growth and provides feedback to staff
• Monitoring/adjusting manhours in accordance with unit budget
• Assisting manager with disciplinary issues and annual performance reviews
• Facilitates any special needs of the surgeon, meets with vendors and keeps preference sheets current
• Is able to perform any role in the service - scrub, assist or circulating

Experience Requirements:

2 Years Operating Room Nursing Experience required.

Education & Credential Requirements:

• Associate of Science Degree, Nursing

• Licensed Registered Nurse Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required
