Job summary

Baptist Health in Jacksonville Downtown is hiring an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Main Operating Room team. This is a full-time day shift position with a $6,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities include providing nursing care on the unit, coordinating staffing, mentoring staff, and liaising with physicians and vendors to ensure smooth OR operations.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science Degree in Nursing and an active RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of operating room nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients on the unit.
• Assess and reassess unit function; liaise with staff, physicians and other departments.
• Provide resource and mentoring for staff; give feedback and supervise performance.
• Monitor and adjust manhours in line with the unit budget; support the manager.
• Assist manager with disciplinary issues and annual performance reviews.
• Coordinate surgeon needs, meet with vendors, and keep preference sheets current.
• Ability to perform any role in the service—scrub, assist or circulating.

Assistant Nurse Manager, Job Responsibilities

• Providing nursing care to patients on the unit
• The assessment and reassessment of unit function; serves as a liaison for staff, physicians and other departments.
• Providing resource for staff members as well as mentors growth and provides feedback to staff
• Monitoring/adjusting manhours in accordance with unit budget
• Assisting manager with disciplinary issues and annual performance reviews
• Facilitates any special needs of the surgeon, meets with vendors and keeps preference sheets current
• Is able to perform any role in the service - scrub, assist or circulating
• Experience Requirements:
• 2 Years Operating Room Nursing Experience required.
• Education & Credential Requirements:
• Associate of Science Degree, Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
• Licensed Registered Nurse Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required
